Trying to find out if part # 984970 door edge guards will fit a 1969 firebird convertible.Could any one help with this answer. Thanks in advance for any help. Jim
67-68 screw on door edge guards do not fit 69. The edge of the door has a different contour, not even close. As far as I know they were not available for the 69 model year...

I'm seeing 988555 listed as a part number for a 1969 GUARD PKG., door edge. So, there may have been some available.

My 1969 coupe has screw holes for the door edge guard brackets (at least, that's what I think the holes are for). I assume the guards were left off when the car was repainted.
The holes don't look like they were drilled, but rather like they were punched out, so I think they are factory made. The PHS report doesn't mention anything about door edge guards though, when I think about it.
I believe over the years that has been the case many times where things show on an order form and or literature etc. that were not actually available, this may be the case as well...
Hi Vickki,do you still have the door edge guards on and if so,do you have any pics showing how they look? Would you happen to know the part number? Thanks Allen
