I have a 1967 firebird 326 ci with the edelbrock cam, carb, and intake. Also have headers and 2 1/4" dual exhaust with 50s flowmasters. My problem is that the carb is always fooding ( had edelbrock techs look at it and found defects on the metering rods) iam not impressed with edelbrock. Can someone suggest a good carb for my 326 ci motor combination, thanks
I've been satisfied with my Quadrajet. It is actually a Buick carb modified to fit a Pontiac.

Thanks for the responses, what year and size of the q- jet do you guys suggest i use? What size did they use on the 1967 firebird version with the 4- barrel on the 326 engine?
All quadrajets are either 750 or 800 cfm. It's hard to recommend a specific carb number since you have non stock intake (edelbrock). Things like throttle linkage and spreadbore vs. dual plane come into play. The 67 firebird with 326 came with a carter AFB carb #4246S (auto) and #4234S (standard), I beleive these were 600 cfm carbs.
Yup 600 - 650 cfm would be a good match. Holley, edelbrock, Rochester what ever you like. Vac. secondaries or mechanical, everyone has their favorite. Bigger than 750 cfm would be too much for a 326.
