Our bird has the 68 pearly parchment interior. There are metal filler pieces on either side of the top part of the back seat that I painted with "parchment" paint. They don't match at all. Does anyone know where you can find a paint that matchs the pearl parchment on a 68?
Which metal filler pieces are you referring to? Trying to picture them as I dont recall painting anything other than the backs of the front seats, but that was plastic.
Gotchya... I had a momentary loss of brain function... thought you were talking a vert. I had a heck of a time finding a pearl parchment paint that matched and had the flecks. I tried several, but found one that was close. When I get home tonight I can send you the info off the rattle can I ended up using. Not perfect but pretty close.
The paint I used was SEM Color Coat # 15103 (super white) It covers well, as the backs of these seats were black. Not a perfect match, but worked well for us and hasn't flaked or scratched off.
Thats very close. I looked at Ames and couldn't find any. There online catalog is not the greatest. Ended up ordering some from Classic. Did you dye the whole interior with the same color? Could you take a picture of the metal filler panels on either side of the top part of the back seat please?
I dyed the repro door panels and then sprayed the rear wells and metal fillers to match. The upholstery is original and was not sprayed. It matches quite well.
I'll get some pics for you.

I have a can of interior dye in 68 parchment, it is a dupont product that has to be sprayed through a gun. it can be mixed at any automotive paint store, after we get back from ball games I will get the mix number and it even has the formula on the can also.

I used Ames for my 69 (I know it is differnt) and it was great. You just need to put in on thin and do several light coats. Also do the thing we all used to do way back before the internet- call them. I know it is terribly uncomfortable sometimes to chat with someone when you can punch the keyboard, but the people at Ames are actually knowledgeable and able to assist with a question such as that. They really are the Pontiac People.

Sorry for the delay, here are those pics. The picture of the piece on the RH side of the car looks a bit off in colour. The first pic of the LH side piece is the actual colour (must have been the flash or something that made the RH piece look off):

Thanks. Those pieces just look funny to me. Like they were an afterthought or something. My wife didn't think I had them installed correctly because you can see the screws!
It is correct, and the colors never matched perfect when new either!

Mark,
I have 68 Custom Parchment /w comfort-weave interior. What color code did you use for the ColorBond product. Do you think it would work on the seats as well? Is there anything that will work on the seats. My seats are in great condition just not as glossy as new anymore.

If your seat upholstery is in great shape but has lost it's pearly sheen, I would consider painting them only as a last resort.
I still have the original upholstery; only the side armrests and door panels were painted with the Colorbond product. You can notice, though, that the sheen is gone from the armrest upholstery, whereas it's still there with the seat.
Like you, my seat upholstery was in very good shape but looked dull and faded. I got them back to looking this way with a combination of Spray 9 used together with a lot of heaving scrubbing using Mr. Clean Magic Erasers, then wiped down with a clean, moist cloth.
Just wondering though - is the Comfort Weave centre section on the seat a cloth material or is it vinyl as well?

In my 68 the comfort weave is vinyl so I am guessing they are all the same.
Then the Magic Eraser should work fine with a bit of Spray Nine on it. Just don't soak the weave so the cleaning solution goes through to the seat foam. I suggest applying a mist of Spray Nine to those sections before rubbing down with the Eraser.
