My black carpet was in good 'condition' , but faded to a brownish color as its gotten a lot of sun...I spray painted mine black with a rattle can, it soaks in to the carpet...looks good..its not as 'soft' anymore , but holds color....and I havent had anyone reach to check the 'feel' of it.... just a thought
