hey everyone, I have a 68 firebird and i was thinking of painting the front bumper to match. does anyone have any pictures of this or has done this? i have only seen two. what would you have to do to paint it, would it be the same paint? just have to scuff the bumpers? any suggestions, pictures or comments would be great. thanks
i.e. cars that had soft bumpers as options anyway. IMHO the big chrome bumpers on these cars set the whole character of the front end.
BUT - if you really want to go that way - I believe you can get fiberglass front bumpers for these cars from companies that sell parts for race cars. Heck of a lot easier that removing the plating from a metal bumper.

Go for the glass and sell the original if you're going to paint it. Somebody else will appreciate the chance to use an original bumper vs. a chrome repop.
