Vikki, that is a '66 Sprint (4 bbl) head. The Holy Grail of OHC, it has the smallest chambers and the most flow in stock form of the OHC heads. Worth buying cheap? How cheap? (I won't put in my personal bias that all OHC parts are worth buying!)(Oops!)
Okay, so now I'm officially an OHCer, and it looks like I found some good stuff. However, I don't have a CAR to put an OHC in. So I'll put together a list once I scrape the grease and grime off

I heard one of the announcers of the Barret-Jackson auction mention the PMD OHC. A Jaguar was on the block and he mentioned the Pontiac as a good engine for it, and that many American Jags of the day swapped out for it.
It seems there is a whole lot of information available on many sites for Pontiac V-8s, is there a set of charts for block codes, head codes, manifold and carb codes for OHC-6? Otherwise I can collect all the numbers and still not know what I have

They're scattered in various places. Many can be found on the OHC site, but their search function is kinda lame. I have some #s but not with me. I'll get a few posted if I can.
Block (letter located in front of #code next to filler tube) ZN=230/250 1bbl auto ZD= 230/250 4bbl stick ZK= 230/250 1bbl stick ZE= 230/250 4bbl auto ZH= '69 250/230HP 4bbl 4spd ZC= '69 1bbl stick ZF= '69 1v auto ZL= '69 4v auto I dont know how to decipher the block #s after the code. As you can see, some of the letter codes can be a 230ci or 250. -------------------- Heads
Cams (letter located behind sprocket) A =165HP 1966 B =207HP 1966 C =175hp 1967?-69 D =165?hp ? E =215hp1967-69 H =230hp 1969 only
4bbl Carbs 702_26_ Blank indicates year and trans/ Example 7028260=1968. 1=stick, 0=auto.
There are some 703____#s for A.I.R. systems, found in parts manual.

From reading the posts and looking at your pictures: You look as if you may have found yourself a fairly complete 66 Sprint engine? Good find! (would the cam happen to be wiped out?)For some reason I only find 67 model engines?.....
Good news, I vacuumed and wiped the gunk from the bores and off the pistons, and find the cylinder walls to have a slight but noticeable ridge, and no more than minor scuffing on the walls. The crank turns over easily by hand and the pistons reciprocate nicely. #1 appears to have a worn or broken ring as the fit is a bit loose, but otherwise the short block appears readily rebuildable.
The cam was coated with lube or oil, and what I thought was rust wiped right off. Without the pulley installed I was not able to turn it over it the housing.
The Sprint head is a bare, hot tanked casting that has been sitting in storage for 30+ years. It needs to be completely reconditioned. There is a first option already given on it, and I should know by the end of the weekend.
I am still gathering info to match up my parts. I have a "valid" block stamping, but the casting code doesn't match any on the lists provided. So I know there is more information to be found.
