Are you sure you have no pressure, i.e., measured it or did the idiot light not go out. I recently replaced my idiot light pressure switch with one from Autozone because I thought I saw a small leak from it. It was listed as a 250 application (BTW I have a 230) but I figured that the accessory drives were all the same so it shouldn't matter. Started the engine up and the light would not clear. Now I don't know if it was a bad switch or what, but when I put my old one back in, no issues. BTW, what was the reason you couldn't start up before?
We have totally rebuilt the engine and we had the Cam 180 degrees out. After fixing these issues it fired up. We were using a manual gauge that shows no oil pressure. So we put sending unit back in and oil light was burning bright. Lifters starting making a little noise so we shut it off. We did not rebuilt the Oil pump just cleaned it real good. Even took a drill and turned Oil Pump with distributor out and valve cover off and couldn't see much oil movement. Was hoping it would come to life after more RPM's. So now we are once again baffled.
We took the regulator out and flooded it with PB Blaster and put it back together then waited a couple of hours and tried it again and it had full oil pressure. This car is suppose to be done by 10/3/12 our 25th wedding anniversary. We will have his and her 67 Firebirds. My husbands is a 400 4speed, but mine is a convertible so I think I win. maybe not in speed but for sure in the "Cool" department.

The other coolness that you probably haven’t thought about is in the engine itself. If you go to a cruise night or a car show and park the cars next to one another, your engine compartment will get many more looks, questions and pictures. You can almost bet it will be the only OHC there. Furthermore many of the people will never have seen nor heard about this engine. You’ll get questions like, “Is that stock,” “Where did that come from,” “Haven’t seen one of those in 20 years,” etc. Yes the 400 is definitely the quicker of the two but IMHO the OHC has the coolness/uniqueness factor.
