I've read on Epay, some of the front disc brake kits move the front wheels out 3/8" on each side. Did that happen with this kit Jeff? Their website did't say.

if it did, i can't tell. looks the same as it did before.
I used their 4 wheel kit on my 68 vert about 1 1/2 years ago. Very complete and everything bolted right up. I did email their tech desk with that question, can't find the email now, but they said it moved the front wheels outboard 1/4 - 3/8"
Simple: Make SURE you tell every vendor you have 14 inch wheels and that will eliminate most of the kits out there and narrow down your choices considerably.

Why not use stock calipers and brackets, then you don't have to worry about it. I'd bet SSBC make brakes to fit 14s. I used their kit for my backs and that was the reason I chose it. They cost about twice what everybody else does but I figured the offset was I didn't have to lay out money for new rims and tires as well as the brake kit. Of course then I changed to bigger wheels about a year later anyway but that's beside the point.
i have been digging through this for a couple of weeks. cost runs from $400 for smaller s-10 type calipers tO $550 TO $675 for oe style cast calipers or simular after market system. to the $1000 and up performance set up. i found a company that has a kit that was made by ssbm, but sold under another name. they were my front runner. i have there info if you would like. i'm decided to go with a donor system.
Well let's see...you should be able to find disc spindles for $150 for the pair, brackets for 40-50, rotors for 50 each, loaded calipers for 45 ea., bearings around 30-40, SS hoses for 20ea. All new parts for around $500. Then there is a booster and MC if you want new probably add another $150-200. That's piecing it together. New tires and rims will run you at least $400 a pair. Doesn't make much sense to buy an original set because you are going to have to replace everything anyway.
I am in the same position in that I want to keep my 14" rims but would like to upgrade. I saw they are selling repo Camaro 4 piston calipers and rotors. Seems like they may work but that is only a guess. I posted earlier but no one responded. I always thought Firebird and Camaro shared the same caliper it was just the internal piston size that changed.
Anyone out there have original 4 piston brakes that can shed light? What are the stamp marks on the originals.
Maybe the repops are better but the originals were problematic. Prone to leaking from what I've heard.
The 4 piston calipers share the design with Corvette calipers and have the seal on the housing instead of the piston. The cure is to have SS bores and pistons that the Corvette guys have been using for years. The Firebird and Camaro calipers are smaller than the Vette ones, but share the same basic design. You can get SS lined calipers for the F-bodies pretty easily.
