Hey guys, I searched all over the boards for info on this, but cannot find anything. Does anyone know if you can purchase a patch for the vertical rise section of the door jamb coming off the rocker panel, in the rear section of the jamb? I beleive it is actually part of the rear quarter panel that wraps into the door jamb and meets the rocker. I will be replacing the rocker panel, but it does not extend up enough to repair the whole section that is damaged by rust. The rest of my quarter panel is solid, so I prefer not to replace the whole thing, and I cannot find a patch for that section. Anybody ever dealt with this? any recommendations for the easiest/most cost efficient way to repair this? Thanks!
"Easiest", and "most cost effective", are two different methods...
Easiest: Buy a full quarter panel, cut the piece out that you need, and weld it in place. Discard the rest of the quarter panel, store it for possible future use, or even try to re-sell it.
Most cost effective: Buy a piece of flat sheet metal of the correct gauge, cut/bend/shape it to make your own custom patch panel. This is only cost effective if you are fabricating yourself and your time is free.
I have never seen a patch panel sold of the piece you are asking about.
I could have swore I saw just the jamb section available via repop catalog or Epay. Dynacorn sells the entire body, so I would think you could get just the jamb area. Try googling Dynacorn dealers and get on the phone with one of them.

Thanks for all of your inputs. I will see if anyone on our forums has a panel that has that section in good shape. I gotta believe someone on here replaced a quarter that might still have this section for a donor.
hslager69's link has the desired part photo'd and listed right there from Franks for a very reasonable $125 (right side only). 8th row down, first part shown on the row. I sincerely hope Rich69Bird snatched it up, as these cannot be easy to locate regularly...not too many dismantlers would vertically cut a perfectly good used quarter panel to sell a chunk like that...presumably the car that supplied this one had a damaged or rusted rear quarter section and only the front part was usable. Thus no left side for sale...only the right.
The part shown is a used section. There will be no cheaper or easier alternative than purchasing that piece, assuming he needed the right side. Claimed rust free, and it'll certainly fit better than any repro would. Now he just needs to find a left side...assuming he needs both? Rich69Bird didn't specify which side he actually needs.
If left side is still needed, I'd recommend searching Camaro salvagers for this piece. The desired chunk will be identical if cut from a Camaro, and more were produced than F-birds.
The other consideration here might be coupe vs convertible. When getting into the inner rockers these models become different. We're not entirely sure what kind of car he's even fixing...
Thanks for all the info here. I did see that franks had the part I was looking for. Unfortunately, I need the left side only. Still searching for it, but feel confident I can find it in a salvage Camaro Firebird somewhere. Just to fill you in, I am repairing this section on a 69 Firebird 400 coupe. The car is pretty solid overall, but has a couple rust issues to be addressed. Starting a ground up restoration after the new year. Planning my work now and prepping by gathering needed parts. Thanks again guys, appreciate your knowledge. I'll post pics soon.
