Best I can tell from searching the suppliers....light gray with white flecks is supposed to be correct for '67....however I can see some spots of the original and it looks like dark gray or even black with off-white flecks.

I started spraying with what they sent me and it looks way to light to me.....

Does anybody know if all '67s came with light gray/white fleck trunk paint..or did it vary with body colors and trim packages?

The Parts book identifies the '67 trunk paint as "dark blue, gray fleck".

Agreed. It's been a few years now but I finally went with the color in this picture for my '68. Note the other issue is that you need to clearcoat the paint really good or the water soluable stuff the vendors sell will bleed and smear if any water gets in the trunk. Maybe there is a better water resistant spatter paint available by now.

Two cans of each did the trick for me. Use the clear coat in a well ventilated area or outside on a nice day.

Jimc that must be one of the "cocktail shakers" I keep reading about...never actually saw oner before since we have a coupe.

I have some old cans of trunk spatter paint in various colors I bought from a long defunct local auto parts store...these cans must be 25 years old but I tried one yesterday and it still sprays fine.....

Since I don't feel like spending another $30 for a can of the "factory correct" stuff which looks totally wrong, maybe I'll try this old school stuff I have.....I'll use the clear if it doesn't hold up to the water test...

Two points about trunk paint:
-it was one-coat from the factory (no clear)
-gotta shoot it with the right gun / settings to get the splatter right

As discussed on the thread that Kurt linked us to, I purchased a quart of the Zolatone Black/Agua directly from them and had a shop spray it out. The shop had to "play" with the settings on the gun and test spray a number of times to get it right, but I am very happy with it and you do not need to clear over it.

This color is among the old cans I got from the auto part store that went out of business....judging by the artwork on the can and the lack of barcode I would guess it's from the 80's..plus when's the last time you saw a sheetmetal cap on a spray can....it was actually as DupliColor product....






The can says Dark Green/Aqua General Motors...base color looks more like black to me. My kids not crazy about how the aqua looks against the Verdoro Green body....I'm trying to convince him it's close to correct color so I don't have to spend anymore money hahaha....
