As some of you know I am putting an ls1 in my son's 75 Chevelle. I have been picking up a lot of info on ls1tech.com and saw this. I am not a huge fan of resto mods but this guy did some really nice work putting an 04 GTO interior into his 69. Worth a look.

I guess time and money are no object to some people.

I really admire the ingenuity and craftsmanship.

But not my taste in final product.

I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure.
I feel like I am diagonally parked in a parallel universe.

If you follow Mecum at all. These restomods are bringing more money than originals. Not my thing, but it seems to be the trend.

ever seen the old farts buying the "resto-mods" at the Mecum auctions...they want the creature comforts, have a 30 year younger wife on their arm and have more dollars than "sense" He11, i'd probably do the same thing wink

I admire the effort he went through to photo-document the work.

I'm not willing to give up my bird for a resto mod but I have to admit I am kind of anxous to see how this ls1 performs. Already told my son that if its faster than my bird I am going to detune it! LOL

Tell me it's not a real TA. I'm not big on originality but that's one car that I would argue for keeping it the way it was made.

there were 2 real TAs up in Estes Park....this was not one of them...(Sams is a clone ,was already 'messed up' when he bought it)
one guy had REALLY lucked out...he paid $1200 (about 11-12 yrs ago)for an 'old used car' at a used car lot that didnt know what they had!and he didnt either, just thought it was a good looking car! IIRC he still drives that one 'original'...might even be the one in the picture w Brett

Very impressive ingenuity and effort. He certainly posseses a lot of skills and a gift for the appearance factor. And like he said, he wasn't cutting up a nice 400 car to do it.

Pretty cool. Really dislike the interior though.

It was at the Good guys show last year at TMS. Nice guy as we talked a bit about the seats, at one time I was considering putting in the same ones as I liked the safety of the 3pt belts.
