I have a '69 and the previous owner re-did the interior. nice new factory vinyl. but he removed the head rests including the hardware. I have the original head rests and hardware (the plastic slide, the retaining clip and the chrome cover for the clip) I am hoping for pointers on getting this install done at home. the local upholsterer quoted me $700 to do this job. that's not happening, so I want to try it myself. anyone have any videos, tutorials, or info they an share? I know how the get the seat back off, I have an idea how to peel the covers up, from there, i'm lost. how does the slide and stuff mount and to what? how to properly cut the hole in the seat cover to accept the head rest post/hardware assembly? any tips?
