Yeah... now when I get pulled over at night and the cop asks, "Do you know how fast you were going?" I won't have any excuses. Off-topic: I passed a beat-up 67 hardtop yesterday on my way to the store (testing my new dash lights), waved at each other... I wonder how I could generate some interest in a local meet like the HALF club...?
Dave , no problem....just drive down to Houston...(home of HALF) LOL
no, really , just each time you see a fgf , get to know the driver...either just get out and talk to him/her or put a businnes card on it w your email/ph no and ask the owner to call you for 'common interests'....When I got my car 3.5 yrs ago, I hadn`t seen a bird around here in 10 yrs....I thought I had the only one in town....slowly they 'gather'....we now know of about 25 locally....never had more than 12 together at one time , but should be able to have 15-16 if 'vacations' dont get in the way... not only is it fun to see he cars , esp. caravanning ,but I have never met so many REALLY NICE people!
Or you can follow the advice that Bjorn gave me the other week, just do a search here and start PM'ing people in the area. I have gotten a pretty good response and hopefully we will have a cruise on in a month or so. I actually just bumped into a guy today looking for a FGF, told him about this site and to post in the bird wanted section. There are more of us than you think.
I was looking at the online show and there are only 3 people in Colorado (counting me). There's no contact info, though. Within 2 miles of my house I know of a non running 69 coupe but it will be sitting for a long time, since it belongs to a kid who's off to college. I think keeping my eyes peeled and maybe going to some generic car shows will let me find some birds! Wish I had stopped the guy the other day and talked to him
