So I have done a basic resto on a 68 camaro, this one is a bit more due to rust, etc.. So I pulled off the front bumper/fenders then will pull the engine/trans to go thru and rebuild. Thinking of then repairing the floor pan with the repro rear pan portions, clean it up and paint.
Should I replace the wire harness ? Its mostly there but looks to be "tired".
Ever see the heartbreaking sight of a classic car on the side of the road burning to the ground?
Yes, I would replace every scrap of 45 year old wiring. It gets brittle and who knows what kind of mickey-mouse repairs or mods were made to the wiring in places that you do not see by previous owners.

I chased gremlins for over a year before I replaced it all with M&H harnesses. Could have saved a bunch of frustration and time. Decide before you order if you are going to go to HEI, one wire alternator, mini starter etc and order the new harnesses with those options already incorporated. It will end up being a lot cleaner install without adaptors.
I'm doing a resto on my 67, Ordered ALL new wiring from front to rear with the HEI change. My car is totally striped down and going in for blasting soon.
