Not brand new but they look it. I bought these because I didn't have any and was planning on building another motor but plans change. Someone installed these and then must've pulled them right back off. They did have a spattering of oil on the under side and there is one small nick about the size of a pencil lead. Also there is some slight discoloration on one of the rails and up the side in between the bolts(kind of a golden hue). Not sure what it is. Almost like it was colored by heat. Just saying they aren't absolutely perfect. They were still in the GM Performance box when I got them. I've never held repops but these seem too thick and nice to be anything but GM. Came with AC oil breather cap. $150 shipped. VC BOXcovers
The part number shown on box is for a pair of 67-79 polished aluminum valve covers. They had PONTIAC and the Pontiac arrowhead stamped into the covers. They are GM racing aftermarket.
I have a pair myself.

Ok, thanks. That does make more sense. I tried looking the number up on the GM site but couldn't find anything so I figured they were discontinued or I just couldn't find em.
So they aren't ones that came in that box but that's the box they will come in to anyone that wants them.

They will look absolutely stock for a 68 400(except for the oil breather, i may have a stock chrome cap around here somewhere). I do have a set of oil drippers that I would be willing to sell with them. Email me Harold. I'm willing to work a deal. bobman58ya@yahoo.com
This is probably a dumb question, but what are oil drippers? Were they stock? Bob, I may be interested if Harold is not. Mine are nice, but perhaps these are nicer?
My apologies, I misunderstood Banshee's post. I interpreted his comment as indicating they had Pontiac and an arrowhead stamped in them which wouldn't have been stock. I only opened the box picture , not the cover picture as I didn't them as two separate links.
I should have kept my keyboard quiet.

woven, No worries. I figured it was just a miscue. carmutt, I'm waiting on Harold to get back to me. I'll let you know. Yes the oil drippers were stock. I'm not exactly sure if all heads came with them or not but it's sort of a sheetmetal rack that mounts between the rocker arms and the underside of the valve covers to stop the oil from slinging all over the place. If I think of it I take a pic this afternoon and post it. Most of them got left off the first time the valve covers were taken off to adjust the valves. BTW, they won't work with an adjustable valvetrain like roller rockers.
Sorry about that. The $135 was for the covers and cap or breather only, shipped. I'll sell the drippers for an additional $25 and they can go in the same box with no added shipping.
