Anybody see this one? Talked to the owner and he's a Pontiac guy all the way and seems like a good guy. Give me some feedback please. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/400-HO-/300937923797?_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&forcev4exp=true#ht_500wt_1183

Looks like quite the project. About $8000 more than I paid for mine though. frown

Here's a better link:

Craigslist, and an anxious seller! smile

Was sitting in a field with six inches of water after a flood. Pictures in my 400 coupe thread. Numbers matching drivetrain.

(actually 1800, but you get the idea)

Great VIN tag. The car is definitely rare (HO, air, disc brakes, PW etc). Worth more than just a 400 car with webbed feet... lol

It lost it's front end at least once, floors gone, paint covering up everything else.

If the engine matches the VIN then it's worth something but I would assume the body is not worth much.

You need to look at it up close. Hard to say if it's worth $9k or not.

Trunk looks wet but the rust looks like it was mostly surface. How were the floors on your car when you got it? How many years have you been working on it?

Yeah I have asked for additional pictures but due to distance and my own time limitations I can't look at it in person. It's interesting for sure but might be too much of a project for me right now. I'd offer much less than the asking price if I were to make an offer.

Getting a lot of pictures and numbers do seem to match-looks like the real deal. Anybody on FGF near this car and can take a look for me????

Agreed. Very interesting car but could be way worse than appears (which isn't too great already) and way too much time and effort involved in bringing it back to glory.

Appreciate that. Is your point that the car has been for sale for a long time and I should make a low offer or that it's just not a desirable car in that condition? Thanks.

No point whatsoever intended. I just noticed the seller had posted it over there and was verbally wondering why no bites. I believe he owns (and has owned) quite a few fgf's and has been slowly flipping them over the past few years. I am pretty sure he is also a member here but doesn't visit or post very often.

He has the offer button right there in his Epay ad...

I don't really have an opinion either way. It could be a really nice car, but would take a ton of work. I've done three of them now and not looking to do another one any time soon.

He went gonzo on me some time back either here or on PY.
Don't remember what topic was, and not sure what set him off, but think he got a vacation. Was gone quit awhile rite after.

Yeah when I spoke with Joe about the car somehow or another your name did come up in the conversation. Nothing particularly good or bad just mentioned your handle. What kind of shape is your 400 in compared to his?

Although my car sold and was twice as decent as this car (it ran, drove and passed inspection) this is a similarly equipped 400HO car.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1968-Pontiac-FireBird-HO-400-335-horse-Numbers-Matching-/400557161076?_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&forcev4exp=true

However, it is a whopping $3,000 less than what my car went for making it more affordable. It doesn't have all those dumb factory options like disc brakes, hood tach, AC etc like mine to fool with either. It has a nice aftermarket wheel too instead of that Firebird deluxe wheel like mine had. Those are easy to get ahold of. What is best about this one is that it dooesnt have primer over the paint. No one ever hides bondo with red paint so you know the body will be good ob this one.

1969 Firebird 350 Coupe, Rust free Texas body, formerly brown, now a TA clone with quality spoiler, latching hood and TA wheel; 1969 GTO Convertible Expresso Brown/Parchment(currently painted red). Both numbers matching. My first love was a Cameo White 67 326 Coupe, bought back in 1983, at the age of 17, for $1,200. Been hooked since on PONTIAC! Working on a 67 400 ragtop for customization-Gulf Turquoise/Parchment/400/4 spd! My winter project!

I'm sure those rare sport mirrors and impossible to find under hood stickers jacked up the price on that one...
