Hello all! Great site! I have a question, my convertible top does't want to go up, but makes noise. I want to get to the top motor, but can't remove the seat. How do you remove the rear seatas? Thanks in advance.
Bottom cushion comes out first. No bolts or anything, just snapped in...or more accurately "sprung" in place. But they can be stubborn.
Need to have weight pushing down on the front of the cushion while also pushing back on the cushion. A wire of the seat frame pops backwards out of a slotted bracket and then it comes up. There are 2 of these brackets welded to the floor, one at about the center of where the left passenger would sit, and another on the right.
Might do you good to pry up on the front of the seat cushion, shine a flashlight in there, and get a visual on the brackets so you can see what you're dealing with. Very simple after you've seen it apart, but hard to explain with words if you've never done it before...
Once the bottom cushion is finally out, you'll find 2 bolts at the bottom of the seatback cushion. Remove 2 bolts and then just lift the seatback up.
