Just replaced my radiator with a modern aluminum thing...
My original is now here on the floor...what to do with it...I see it says "Harrison" on one of the tanks. The big tank with the filler neck and Trans cooler has two large raised "A A" marks, and between the two A's is a smaller "D" above a smaller "2".
I can't see any markings on the other tank. I don't see a big tag on it like I've see on some Chevys.
Core is 23" x 18", 3 rows.
Car originally was born as a 1968 Convertible 350 Firebird 2bbl automatic with A/C.
No leaks, totally functional, minor corrosion and a few dents. Cooled my 400 4bbl reasonably well in most all conditions. I'm just building bigger/better all the time, my car's all modded, and I want some more capacity so I went big aluminum. It's 95% clean and nice on the inside, cosmetic rust and some old sloppy looking welds that may be the signs of a former recore/repair at one time.
How can I tell whether this was original to the car? What does that tank code mean? If not original to my car, what did it come out of? Any value? Anyone want it? I suppose someone can shoot me an offer if it sounds like something you'd like...I have a perfect shipping box that my new radiator came in.
I hate to scrap it but I'll never use it again and my car will never be anything close to original again, so I'm not real inclined to store it indefinitely either.
Any knowledge or input is valued. Thanks!
