I recently came into possession of a Red 1967 Firebird with the 326, 2 barrel carb, and auto transmission. The body is in great shape and the motor runs well, however I do need to redo the interior.
One of the options my car came with was the front bench seat. All of the pictures I've found on the internet have been bucket seats. I'd really like to see a picture of someones bench seat, particularly the fold-down arm rest and how it attaches to the rest of the seat. Mine is currently detached and it is not readily obvious to me how it should be installed.
Here is a picture of the car for grins and giggles.
Welcome to the site! I believe some (or all) 67 bench seats came without the center arm rest. But maybe some members here will chime in. That may be why no obvious way to attach.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure. I feel like I am diagonally parked in a parallel universe. 1968 400 convertible (Scarlet) 1976 T/A - 455 LE (No Burt) 1976 T/A New baby, starting full restoration. 1968 350 - 4 speed 'vert - 400 clone (the Beast!) 1968 350 convertible - Wife's car now- 400 clone (Aleutian Blue) (Blue Angel) 2008 Durango - DD 2008 GXP - New one from NH is AWESOME! 2017 Durango Citadel - Modern is nice! 1969 Coupe may be similar? One screw per cover. Two bolts at base of hinge (tough to see but they are there). One bolt per side of pad. Hope it helps..
Thank you all for the informative and quick response.
BrntSpro, I dont have the plastic things to the side of the armrest. I didn't notice any obvious place for brackets to be to attach anything. I suppose I am missing the brackets that are needed, or they have been detached and are sitting in the small pile of parts that came with the car...
