had this problem for a while. put it off to old harrness. new wiring now. battery has a draw on it until i unplug the alt. the alt. was test before reinstall. could it be something else, regulator horn relay or get another alt. thanks

I recently had this problem resolved last week. Battery drained when the motor is running. My alternator passed the test on my local parts store. But instead of chasing shorted wires, I decided to change the alternator and regulator (they were old anyway). The car holds charge now.

Thanks, every thing is new other than alt. still can't figure why I put the old alt. back on, spent thousands on motor, wiring , brake and ever suspion wear parts. And put a 8 year old $40 part back on.
