Would someone please please give me some kind of answer. I have been working on my 69 bird for the past month. Redoing the under hood area repainting and cleaning up things. Are the wheel wells in the front bolted up to the fenders or the wheel wells put in place that the fenders are bolted to the wheel wells. With the fan for the a/c on the front fire wall, it seems the fenders should be bolted up first than the wheel wells bolted to the fenders, being if the fan needs to be replaced u just unbolt the wheel well to gain access to the fan. I tried to find some info on this site and the first gen site but no luck. Thanks
When I am putting these birds back together I bolt the wheel wells to the fender then bolt the whole assembly to the car. You can take the inner wheel well off when the fender bolted to the car but it is not easy and most likely you will scratch up the paint.
I agree with bigchief. It would be pretty tough to remove inner fender leaving fender in place.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure. well I got the wheel well out by undoing the bottom bolts on the fender and pulling the bottom of the fender out but not to hard. Should I put it back by just bolting it to the bottom of the fender or pulling out the bottom of the fender and replace it where it was? I'll check when I go to put it back an see how it fits Thanks guys
