I recently picked up a 1967 firebird. It came with a box of extra parts and there is one that I can't identify. I was wondering if anyone could tell me it this is for a 1967 firebird and where it would be used. However, I am new to this forum and I have no idea of how to attach a pic to this post. Any help would be appreciated.

Tried what you said but the only options to the right of the Post Options is "add this thread to my watched topics" & "add my guest signature to this post.
Click on it with your mouse. It's a link that opens a small window.

So you dont see at the bottom of the page the quick reply box circled in red on the screen shot pic I attached? It isint on the right side it is straight down at the bottom of the page. If you do now see it, click on the right button named "SWITCH TO FULL REPLY SCREEN" as shown by the red arrow in the screen shot pic I attached. This will bring up the option for "File Manager" to add a pic(s).
You can post a photo the old fashioned way - by using a URL address from a photo sharing website. The first couple of pages of this thread outline how we used to do it:
As a last resort - send me a PM and we can arrange a way for me to post it for you.

Thanks for you help guys. I visited a true Pontiac guy I know locally and showed him the part. It was called a bumper filler. On the 1967 Firebird model these were metal. On the 1968 Firebird model these were plastic. These go between the front bumper and the fenders along the sides.
Nope. 'Early '67's were metal, then switched to the formed vinyl ones. There were even some during the transition that had both. The metal ones were installed behind the vinyl ones.
I have a near perfect set of the metal ones if anyone needs a correct pair.

Hmmm.... My 67(June build) may be vinyl after think'n some more. Have'nt looked at the bar asm since storing up in the rafters back in the 90's, but kinda remember they where less flexable vs my 68. Gon'a have to take a look.

My '67 built the first week of April had both with metal behind vinyl. I always thought the previous owner got confused and installed the vinyl ones. Good to know it might be factory correct.

So it sounds like they started switching over in May-June...

Well, turns out mine are rubber after all. Looked for replacements bought years ago thinking they may been vinyl, but guess sold them w/a 68 bar asm sold not long after.
I hope these pics loaded- They are under the "file manager" but I dont see them on the "review post"
Anyway- I believe these to be original on my 1st week of May 1967 built 400 Bird
