what I have; 1972 455, Edelbrock RPM intake, Qjet 7042264, 700r4 trans. in 67 bird with stock accelerator linkage. Problem I am having is getting the TV cable hooked up. I called bowtie overdrives and Rich doesn't really have a kit that works for that carb so... I can piece together a mount for the TV cable but it appears the carb is my hiccup. I have an Edelbrock 1400 that is 600 CFM with the TV hookup of another engine but I think going from the 750CFM qjet to 600 CFM is really gonna hurt power. I need suggestions on how to tackle this from a different perspective. Or pics if you have already been down this road.
You may have to make your own. That is the same problem I had with mine and I cut and welded a stock 69 carb lever extension to try and make it work according to THIS . You could always go up to a Thunder Series AVS 800 cfm carb. I am going to use THIS once I change out my carb.
