Hi, I have a 69 firebird convertible im trying to convert back to a manual transmission, but im hearing all this stuff about the 69 firebird having unique pedals. also I cant seem to find any aftermarket for this year. this car was originally a manual trans car. it all bolts up with a 7/16 dia bolt thru the hanger. can someone explain the difference between the 68 pedal setup and the 69? I am a toolmaker machinist and can easily make any kind of bushings or adaptors if necessary. just need to know if the shape of the pedal itself from 1968 can work. any input would be appreciated. Thanks Doug
I'm not sure but I think it was mainly the bracket that the pedals hang from that was different. I believe the pedals them selves are probably interchangeable. One slight difference might be the brake light bracket. It's possible they could be setup different. Check Franks Pontiac parts. He might have pics of each year that you could look at.
