Can seem to find a starter for this motor. Autozone said they had one, but it isn't the same, after I got it home. Anyone have any info ?
thanks Jeff

If your starter nose is ok then you can swap in the rest from other gm starters. If your starter nose is broken then check the ohc website. a couple of those guys have lots of parts around. I put a chev 6 starter in mine and ground back the housing to clear the flywheel teeth. I don't recommend this because it weakened it but it got me through when I was stuck. If you have a correct starter nose you should keep it if you find another correct starter or perhaps the parts will fit from your autozone starter could be used to rebuild your original. Neill

The nose is no good, so I can't switch it out. Thought about grinding too, but decided not to at this point. If I can find the nose, I'm good to go. Thanks Jeff

A mini starter should also work
