proper routing of heater hoses

I just started to install my ribbed heater hose kit. I've got a couple of extra feet of hose. This made me wonder if perhaps the original routing included a strap or two to the inner fender or do they just run alongside the valve cover. Does anyone have an idea?

Now I'm a bit curious. None of those example pics show the hold off bracket that bolted to the front of the head my 350 came with. Which applications came with the strap to the fender and which ones came with the bracket?

Good question, my late build '69 came with the hold off bracket ...nothing attaching the hose to the inner fender wheelhouse.
