Could someone post a pic of the lil 1" flange at the very bottom of the quarter-panel and the tail-panel please. I would surely appreciate it, as Im finishing up the repairs to the rear section of my 68, and Im not exactly sure how far to bend it. I was thinking it simply points straight down, perpendicular to the ground, but I could be wrong, so I thought I would ask yall. Thanks in advance, and I hope yall have a great July 4th. Charlie
Charlie, Here's a shot of that area on the right quarter I had a resto shop install last year. It looks just like the left quarter that was replaced in Sept, 1977. Thus, neither are factory original but look OK. let me know if you want a shot from another angle.
It looks like its bent inward, correct? So it doesnt point straight down towards the ground? I was just wondering what angle it had cuz mine is presently flat. Thank you for taking time to post that pic Jim, I appreciate it.
Charlie, Here's a couple more views that may add perspective. The quarter meets up with the "compartment pan to quarter panel filler" (as the Pontiac book calls it). The resto shop that installed the quarter sealed the area with a body sealer.
