I have a 1969 firebird convertible 350 HO motor and a TH350 trans looking for the correct kickdown cable which I am having a hard time finding. Any information would be appreciated.
fgf's did not come with kickdown cables. They came with electric kickdown switches mounted on the driver's side of the carb.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure. this is all new to me since i recently got this car from a relative so trying to figure out where they left off , this car has a 4 barrel rochester quadrajet carb on it. So i am trying to get it running again.
If the transmission was swapped out with a '70's version or something, you may need to jury-rig a cable for kickdown or something.
If it is an original th350 or 400, it should have the kickdown wires coming off the driver's side. They travel up to the carb along the front of the firewall behind the distributor. The wires and plug may be lying back in there somewhere or tired off to the firewall. (or removed by a PO)

If I'm not mistaken, the TH350 trans has a kickdown cable. I can't say where you can find a correct one though, my Firebird has a TH400 (with electric kickdown) so I haven't had the need to look for one.
thank you all for the replies. ok so here are the numbers I found today. Engine by #8 cylinder 9790079, passenger side of block 0376585 YF, Trans on servo cover passenger side 69 JF 199 D , drivers side 11-68 25 538 , intake manifold 9794234. I did find two cut wires from the firewall near the distributor. So can I run the car without the detent cable hooked up or will it damage the trans?
