So I have seen a few parts list for the 68 backup switch. They always show the bracket, retainer clip and switch. However, I have seen a couple original setups that include this washer and nut. I included a picture of it.

Does anyone know the correct details and if it was part of the setup. It sure looks correct and really secures the switch. Would it have been on one of the originals 68 parts list and the newer years don't have it?

Anyone have any more details on it?

I know in the picture half of the switch is gone. Just trying to point out the other parts not on the parts list.

Harold, good to know the parts arrived safely. I'm not sure the washer, nut or clip were in correct position for install. I cleaned the parts and just threaded them together so as not to be lost during shipping. Sorry I don't have more details.

They seem to me they are installed correctly. It will be nice and tight for the switch. This is the 2nd complete set I have seen with the Nut and Washer. I would like to see others input. Probably undocumented parts.
Thanks so much for the parts. Really awesome find for me.

Harold,

Did you happen to find a replacement switch? I have the same setup, but haven't been able to locate a replacement switch - at least not one that will work with extension harness.
