Good morning all,
I am nearing completion of our 69 firebird restoration, I took the car apart a looooonnngggg! time ago so I am struggling with some assembly, we got the carpet in and are installing interior panels, my question is about the carpet edge in the rear foot well where it meets the interior panel is there just a small section of raw edge between the windlace and rear armrest about an inch or two long?
Thanks for any help
Bill

Bill, yes, that was like that from the factory. The factory covered that small triangular portion with a small piece of vinyl attached directly to the steel floor and door jamb to match the color of the interior. You may (or may not?) recall having to peel those pieces of vinyl off when taking the interior out of your car.

Or perhaps a previous Owner removed them and tossed?

Or dig through your boxes and bags of parts and you may find them. They are kind of a triangular shape with legs in two directions. If not, you can use some vinyl pieces that match the rear side panels or seats.

I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure.
I feel like I am diagonally parked in a parallel universe.

Just went through this on my '68. Yes, there was is a couple inch of carpet edge exposed in the area you described.

Thanks,
Dennis

Thanks guys,
It looks fine with everything else in, I did find the little triangle pieces with the cardboard backing, unbelievable because of how long ago I took it apart, I will post some pics this weekend.
