The Firebird has been off the road since 2011. I started stripping it down with the intentions of repairing all the rust and replacing the cut/spliced wiring harness (original reason I took it off the road). Every major piece of sheet metal has been replace on the car (hood, both fenders, driver door, inner/outer passenger rocker, both quarters, inner/outer wheel wells, entire floor, trunk, roof, firewall, upper/lower cowls). I fired it up again for the first time in 7.5 years. It will be awhile before it's road worthy since the entire front end is still off the car in case I needed to pull the engine for some reason. Engine specs are a 1971 455 block out a GTO, bored .060" with a Butler Performance forged stroker kit bringing in the displacement at 474 cu. in, Edelbrock Performer heads, Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, Comp Cams XE274H cam (nothing crazy), Comp Cams roller tip rockers, Canton road race oil pan, Hedman ceramic coated headers. I used a Barry Grant Demon 625cfm carb for break in (from the previous Pontiac 350 that was in the car) but will be switching to the Holley Sniper EFI this weekend. I've already got the Tanks Inc. fuel injection tank installed in the car.
