Were these originally pot metal but the new reproductions are plastic?
I have been going through my new part boxes in anticipation of my car coming out of paint jail and I found a pair of new metal dividers I got from E-pay long ago. But I noted the repro houses only offer plastic ones these days.

If you mean the black x-shaped fillers between the headlights, I have only ever seen plastic.
I've never seen repop ones, only originals.
Never have seen metal ones either.

Hopefully someone with original parts on an early '67 will chime in. Maybe early builds were metal. The parts book lists the part then curiously mentions (plastic). (Called "Escutcheon, Radiator Grill - plastic) Was that a hint that the replacement parts were plastic to people needing to replace their metal originals?

Interesting. Finally checked the '67 Trim book. Straight on front view, Part #17 reads: ESCUTCHEON, Radiator Grille - Plastic.
And to think I just put in an order today to Ames for my finishing decals.
Anybody know what screw holds them in place? Trim book and '73 Parts Sheets were no help.

Let me look tonight, and I will get back to you. I have many of them, some snapped in half that are easily super glued. Might have some of the screws too.
