I bought my 67 as a rolling shell. The seller threw in a set of non-GM bucket seats with the correct tracks on them. I'm not a fan of the short back 67 seats and have been looking at the 70-81 seats. Will they physically fit in a first gen car?
yes, I had a set of 2nd gen Camaro seats in mine for a long time, but mine were from a 70 Camaro with the lower back and short head rests, not sure about the later ones that are high back.
Many ... moon's ago.... You learn the hard way eventually in life. This was an early "forced error". lol
The small shop that did the upholstery (I use that word loosely) , still has his shop. I must have been his 1st customer.
However, the seats were great! Mine went all the way back to the rear seat. Excellent for us guys 6' tall (in the leg).
My insurance co. wanted to raise my insurance rate when I got married. The rate was set based on the driver. I told the agent if he can get my wife to depress the brake with her foot while sitting on the front bucket seat fully pulled forward I would pay him $50. Da wify is 4' 11/16"
I think my dad had some bar stools in the 60s that would match perfectly to that interior. Kinda makes me think of asking tuner guys these days about why they have that big picnic table mounted on the back of their car. They give you that serious look and say, for the down force man! (Huhhuhhuh, ok.). I guess that dash was the closest thing to air bags back in the day.
I found a deal on a set of power bucket seats from a 2005 GTO. I’ll see what it’s going to take to mount them In the car. Anyone ever made this swap before?
