Hey everyone,
I'm re assembling my front suspension on my 68 Bird. I took it apart a long time ago. I was wondering about coil spring insulators if it should have them and whether they go on top or bottom or both? When i took it apart I don't remember seeing any but it was a while back.

Coil insulators were used to ensure even stance. Not all cars had them. They were installed on the top of the front springs.

So chances are I don’t need to put them on? I don’t remember taking any off. Then I started second guessing myself and didn’t think the factory would of put the springs in the pockets metal to metal. Thanks for the help.

I know my '68 did not have them when I changed the springs and they do not appear in the parts book illustrations: Front Suspension

A few previous discussions indicate insulators for front springs are probably only aftermarket: Search for "insulators"

Ok thanks I’ll check it out. I was looking at my books and diagrams to and couldn’t find them either on there. I bought two insulators not sure why I thought I needed them.
