Trying to find out the value of a barn find Firebird V8 hardtop with 35,000 miles. Not confirmed matching #s. Had been inside for years and just now pulled out. I have the vin # to verify the year and motor. I would consider it in ok condition...will have pics soon as it's not in my state. What else needed to assess a fair value?
You need a slew of pics, the PHS documents on the car and the codes off of the block and heads to truly know what you have there.
Are they saying it is a 400 car or a 350 or 6cyl? Typically but not always the value is in that order. You will want to check the body over for repairs or hidden damage plus the underside of the car. What shape are the rear frame rails in?
Are you going for an original restoration or a daily driver with a mix of stuff or a pro mod restoration? The value of what is on the car or what is missing will affect the value of the car to you for your purpose.

Thanks so much. It will be sold as is. It is an asset in an estate sale I am the executor of. Just trying to get a fair price for the estate. VIN says it's a V8 but not 350 or 400.
Without a little more info its hard to get a fair price. If it is a true 400 car with matching motor you have a gem there. Have you seen it? got any pics?
