I've decided to get an aluminum rad. Now the dilemma is do i also get the electric fan(s) and controller or just move to the aluminum rad and use the stock shroud and clutch fan. Is there a downside to only going for the rad by itself? But i keep thinking...if you're getting one you must get the other. What's been your experience..if i just get the alum. Rad will that make a huge difference or is it viewed that I'm only delaying the inevitable. I should add that i face a lot of stop and go traffic and sitting a lights.

It would be helpful if you gave more info as to why you want an aluminum radiator in the first place, what particular problem, high or low speed cooling problems or both? and also what your current set up is now, rows of radiator, boiled? baffles? mastic fillers? If you want an aluminum radiator just because of the current fad that's fine too just remember they are not all created equal and some do not fit the original shroud or opening very well, Hopefully someone with direct knowledge of a particular brand that fits perfect can chime in.

It's running hotter than I want - don't feel comfortable getting into traffic and city streets where I have to crawl or even sit at lights - sometimes 2 lights before I can get through the intersection.
So I've decided to invest the time to consider aluminum rad options....Case Cold is my initial choice.
