That tire should give you a overall diameter of 26.7 inches which is smaller than the 255/60/15 (27.1") that some of the guys here run so you shouldn't have a problem unless youve got some saggy springs ;-) I believe the max backspacing is 4.5 inches... at least it is on my '67
Can anyone back me up on that number?
My only concerns though are that the minimum rim for that tire should be 8 inches so you may need larger than an 8 also BF goodrich TA radials list the width on a 9.5 inch rim as 12.2 inches! DANG thats fat! I'd do some measuring to make sure they dont stick out of your fenders

Well, I had a 295/50/15s on 15x8 inch wheels with 4.75 inch backspacing on my 69 for a while. I had to roll the fender lips for clearance, but had plenty of room. Too much backspacing with a 15 inch wheel and you end up with a clearance issue with the lower shock mounts.
I'm currently running a 295/35/18 on an 18x10 inch wheel and have a little room to spare. Just do your homework and measure, measure, measure!!!
thanks a bunch. yeah im looking at some rims that are 15x10 and have a few backspacings to choose from. i do know for a fact that a 15x10x5.5 will fit easily with the lips rolled. my buddy and i took his chevelle rallye rims that are those measurements and put them on and i cleared the shockmount fine. i just cant find any cool rims in that measurement. i mean, you can get torq thrust 2s in ANY measurement, but everyone has them and i want to be original. anyhow, thanks for the help. im going to go do some measuring.
Jon cool slogan thingy you should just get shane's and see which way you have more room toward the inside, more BS or the outside less BS or look at 9.5" rims they will only make the tread contact a little narrower
i run a 8 1/2 rear rim with 3 7/8 backspacing and a 28x11.5x15 hoosier rear slick and 15x4 with a 26x7.50 MT tire up front on my bird the tire ends up flush at the wheel lip.no contact problems
