can anyone tell me if a hood from a 67 or 68 will fit a 69.I can't get the lines between the fender and hood correct.also how much of a gap shpuld there be between the hood and windshield valance. thanks
The '67 hood is dimensionally the same as the '68 and '69 hoods. The hood latch mechanism is different on '67. If you install a '67 hood on a '68 or '69 vehicle, you will have to modify the hood latch mechanism. I don't know what this requires. Most of these types of questions concern installing a later '68-'69 hood on a '67. That is a fairly easy fix - install the later hood latch assy.
As far as gaps, they should be as even all the way around as possible. Not sure of specific measurements, but someone here can give you a good idea.
yes ,hood will fit ,but 67 has a different latch...
so if you use a 67 hood ,change to the latch you have ( I assume you have a 69 latch) , also I think the receiving cut out latch in the hood can be adjusted....I think 67 is flat ,the 69 is slightly tilted?
I`d rework the latch on the hood to be 69 style, but yes you can put 67 style latch mechanism on the car...BUT, If I remember right, 67 didnt have the 'safety catch'? So it may be better to go w 69 style... its the square "hole" receiver in the hood that is either bolted in there or sometimes welded in....(mine is both , one side bolted, one welded...) see if you can get with someone who has a 68 or 69 hood to compare to...I think Brent Block is up there close to you in Edmonton, and if I remember right he has a 68...?

Thanks Bjorn,I have talked to Brent before and have his phone #.I think i will re work the hood to match the 69 latch.The car should be painted tomarrow,can't wait to see it in it's original verdoro green.Will i have to change the latch on the hood or can i ulter it to work.
