My brother-in-law and I have a bet going on right on and I need some third party input. What's the difference between the E cam and the H cam for the Sprint engine? There's a steak dinner for the winner of this bet so be honest!!
Funny thing was that I got a pretty good deal on it because the guy selling it said it wasn't worth much being it had a six cylinder in it and no one was interested. It pays to do your homework sometimes!!
Glad to hear of your interest in the Sprints! I too have a 67. (convert/4spd.) Finishing a 5 year frame-off resto and should be driving it this next spring! I built a 230 HP version for mine, so I am running the "H" cam.
My Sprint also didn't get much interest when I bought it less than 2 yrs ago. Only me and one other bidder, both within driving distance. I also think I got a good deal. I don't remember ever seeing an OHC before, but I am hooked now.
Best part of owning a Sprint are the funny looks people give you when you tell them what kind of engine you have. I think the Average Joe assumes that all Birds came with 400's. That and the fact it really scorches my brother-in-law that there is another Sprint in the family!! Rob, good luck with the rebuild...I'm sure it will be killer once it's done. Miles, very nice car as well.
