Tom is correct in saying most are made by the same company. It depends on if you are looking for "daily driver" or "concourse" quality. If you are looking for "concourse" I recommend you stick with the higher quality carpet sets from companies like ACC. It will only cost you $50-60 more for the higher quality sets.
I installed a generic carpet set (like the one from CI) that I purchased from the local Camaro supplier to save shipping/handling from the mail order guys. It looks okay but the when I compare it to nice cars at the T/A Nationals, I can see that it is not of the same quality.
is one better than others on fadeing. i put a new carpet in my chevelle and in about a year when you moved the mats the color was like night and day. tony

I have an ACC carpet and i like it. I hear ACC is of good quality.Like most other things, you do get what you pay for.I also believe the ACC has the heavy 36oz jute padding and is 80/20% rayon and nylon, made top factory specs.Other things to consider are the heel pad and grommet areas, i'm sure durabilty there can be a factor to consider as well. Consider home carpet for example. You can buy new carpet cheap or expensive. There is a difference.

Afaik, ACC is the carpet to have. I installed mine a week or so ago and found it to be of excellent quality. There is a heel pad as well as the hole and grommet for the headlight switch. Knowing what I know now, I would aim for this hole to be correct first then cut to fit from there. Otherwise, I didn't have much trouble with it.
I think you will like the ACC carpet. It is heavy duty quality carpet IMO, very well made, moulded and heavy jute padding.Like Miles mentioned, i'd use the highbeam grommet hole as a starting point and go from there.Take your time lining it up across the car and when you go to cut the shifter area.

I wouldn't even cut any excess off the kickpanel area and would just tuck it under the kickpanel(i don't remember there being that much to remove anyway) Nash is correct though,if you cut to much your carpet is done.Same goes for the shifter area, careful to not be over zealous on the snip-snip as it will show along the side of your console.Goodluck with it.
