I've been a first gen. firebird member for a few years now and Geoff has never asked for a dime.I know there are other car club sites that do, so I was thinking how about those who would like to, sending Geoff anywhere from $1-$5.00 it sure would go a long way.I know it's not much but with all the member's we've got it, it sure would add up fast.So how about it!!!
(Note: I edited the Subject to reflect FGF instead of Geoff)
Not sure but looking at both of your posts you are both rated members. I think both of you could handle this and I would be more then happy to make the first cash contribution. One more suggestion it would be great to set this up with pay pal
I would be glad to set this up,if I only knew what to do I don't even know how to use paypal. As you can see I'm not very computer literate.I check this site and my email and that's it.
I am set up to take pay pal and I have no problem handling that part for you. I am not sure how to go about getting everyone to contribute. Let me know what help you need from me. I just thought that if someone was rated that the group might feel a little more trusting then from a non-rated person.
The way I look at it we can send donations to Geoff directly or elect a treasurer to collect the donations and send them to him. Geoff should already be set up to take paypal and money order or checks of course. In my opinion it would be easier to send donations directly to him...he may be a little humble to respond in this thread but if he is okay with recieving donations, just post a paypal & snail mail addy and I'm sure the support will start rollin in Also people if you want a cool hat or shirt, just click the AD on the right of the page and help support the site while treating yourself to one or more cool items
I have been kicking the idea around in addition to the minimal funds we get from the eStore. I am going to set something up with PayPal as they already have a system for this and I already have an account for the eStore. It will help offset some of the costs as they keep increasing with the additional services needed to maintain the Mailing list and web site.
Yes, I have been a little reserved on doing this but costs keep increasing and I need to do something else to help with operational costs. With the latest problem with AOL and other ISPs, I am going to have to upgrade my DSL service from $25 month dynamic account to a $90 month static account as there is no other way to solve issues.
Thank you for the support and interest and watch this week for the link here and else where on site and mailing list.
If Geoff already has an account - the page just needs a "Help support this site via Paypal" button above the eStore button on the right of the screen. I belong to a Mitsubishi 3000GT site as well as this - go here to see what they have done... http://www.3si.org
Doug, no plans for a coupe. If I stitched them myself, I would as it would be a no brainer for myself switching between the two designs. As it is now, I have a number of shirts which embroiderer used color which was not ordered and I have to have another made. Thought it was just that particular embroiderer but two others have same track record.
Geoff, made my donation under my wife's paypal acct. srustin1@hotmail.com just in case you're wondering who it's from.It really bums me out that you have no plans for a coupe....well maybe in the future. Also what part's are you needing to get your bird in the road?Maybe I can help.Doug
Since you guys are first to donate, I have a question for an idea I have. Would you guys be against a contributor thank you page and anyone else who donates?
Geoff,I just donated and it doesn't compare to the knowledge I have access to on this site! May I make a sugestion that you have a fund raiser similar to a PBS station. Pick a month that members can donate to FGF. You can create a page that members can go to to contribute, have a month long fund raiser and I'm sure many members would be willing to contribute. It could be real fun too. If you wanted you could make something like FGF refrigerator magnets to send to donors. This would help in keeping the time you spend on donations down to a minimum, and ensure you are not burdened with the expenses. One more thing, who is #1 ? Pete
With all the information that I have gotten from here thats worth something. I'm in. Give me an address to send the check. Thanks Geoff for all the time you put in Bill.
I would also like to help but need an address to mail it to as I dont trust the internet with my credit card #'s and thanks for all the work your doing Geoff
It's hard to put a price on the availability of a resource at your fingertips like the first gen site and the amassed knowlege and experience of the membership here. Thanks Geoff.
Sorry it took so long to pitch in. I just never saw the link........usually just go to tech for the help. Thanx for all you have done to help me and everyone else making their FGF experience more informative and enjoyable. Kelly web page
I too just made a pay pal donation. I think it was well worth all the help and advice I have received over the past 3+ years. Thanks for creating and maintaining a great site.
I've felt guilty for weeks now with all the great insight and info I've gotten from you all without spending a dime. This is undoubtably the best website on the market for true 1st Gen Firebird lovers. I've looked at them all, and none can compare to this site. You are welcomed by all and you don't feel like an idiot when you ask a stupid question. Folks like Quenton, Banshee, Bob S. and many others go out of their way to try and help everyone. Made a few good friends already on this website, and look forward to making more friends in the future.
So, where do I send a donation Geoff? P aypal?

"Nashville", you can find the place to give a donation easiest , by going to post no 11 from the top on this page, Geoff posted the location there , and you can Paypal there...
Bjorn, got it! That was easy. Only had 25 bucks left in the paypal account but transfered it to FGF support. Well worth it for all the help I have gotten on this website.

Been lurking on the list for a couple years now, still need to add my picture to the owners pages... anyway transferred my last $25 from PayPal account to help support this site!
fyi as it has been asked, I am doing things in my usual fashion and creating a donation start page giving you option to use PayPal or Personal Check/Money Order.
Have to do some more tweaking before make it live. Will post URL here and Firebird-L.
