So, don't forget, I'll be buying all of these calendars ($500+ !!) out of my own pocket. PLEASE don't back out of your puchase after I've sent Kodak the money.
Of course I trust you guys -don't take it personally- there's just one in every crowd, ya know?
As soon as I figure out the per person cost, I'll be posting it in this thread next to your name, at the top of this thread. First you'll pay me, then I'll be shipping them to you. (PayPal will speed things up a lot, but there will be an extra charge to you since Paypal takes their cut out of my end.) Remember the only guy making a profit is Geoff, not me.
I think PayPal has a different percentage for Credit Card payments as opposed to direct from an account (PayPal or Bank) so maybe pick some one from thr group to do a "test" payment to get the exact figure (or you should be able to get the percentage info from PayPal I would think?
But just let us know and we'll do our best to get you the funds ASAP!
THESE PRICES ARE NOT FINAL - I need to determine how much the real shipping total is.
As of today, Kodak will charge ME $113.44 to ship 56 calendars via US Postal to me. That equals $2.02 PER calendar
So the per calendar cost (barring any changes on Kodak's part) will be:
Scenario for 1 calendar: $10.00 - Calendar $2.00 - Geoff Surcharge $2.00 - Kodak to me shipping $3.00 - Approx cost of me to you shipping $17.00 - Total
Scenario for 2 calendars: $20.00 - Calendars $2.00 - Geoff Surcharge $4.00 - Kodak to me shipping $4.00 - Approx cost of me to you shipping $30.00 - Total
Scenario for 3 calendars: $30.00 - Calendars $3.00 - Geoff Surcharge $6.00 - Kodak to me shipping $5.50 - Approx cost of me to you shipping $44.50 - Total
Scenario for 4 calendars: $40.00 - Calendars $4.00 - Geoff Surcharge $8.00 - Kodak to me shipping $7.00 - Approx cost of me to you shipping $59.00 - Total
Scenario for 5 calendars: $50.00 - Calendars $5.00 - Geoff Surcharge $10.00 - Kodak to me shipping $8.00 - Approx cost of me to you shipping $73.00 - Total
Well I researched the situation at Paypal. it looks like if you are going to fund your payment to me with a credit card (a reasonable thing) Paypal will make me upgrade to a Business or Premier account. That's an unreasonable thing.
Well I can only accept U.S. POST OFFICE POSTAL MONEY ORDERS then. Why? It's a pain for me to cash a check. I go into work early and get out late. To top it off my bank isn't local. Long story. Edit: OK, I can take a personal check from the US people. But if it bounces you will really, really bother me - and everybody on the forum will know.
For overseas people - I will accept a US FUNDS BANK CHECK or MONEY ORDER. The overseas folks could have a very high shipping charge. Maybe around double. I don't know.
This thread will be used to maintain the status of each and every order. If you are, ummmm, slow to pay me, the whole world will know. I stand to lose a lot of money here and I'm sticking my neck out because FGFs RULE! :-)
Only Paypal that is funded with a checking account or a cash balance at Paypal. Even then, I'm reluctant to accept Paypal at all. Because, inevitably, somebody will get confused on how their Paypal account is funded and then I get the headache of sorting it out.
I'm here to raise a little money for Geoff and get us some cool calendars, NOT to supply tech support for funding.
I know it sounds harsh, but I just don't want to mince words and then people get confused.
no idea what you`re talking about?? I`ve used Paypal for lots of transactions....no idea if funded by credit card or checking ,but feel sure its checking...have sent money via paypal to Europe , individuals here ,for purchases and just "transfer" money...
I have no problem sending a cashiers check for instance ,my bank is close and they dont charge me for it.... but `id think paypal would be easier , more reliable...a cashiers check CAN be forged ,stolen ,thats how the "Nigerian Scams" go on...you should always wait for 'funding' even on those...paypal is immidiate..
Thank you for contacting PayPal. We apologize for the delay in responding to your service request.
You may accept funds to your Personal Account however if you receive a payment with an accept or deny action you may need to look at up grading.
There are several reasons a payment will have "Accept" and "Deny" buttons in the action column. Since you have a Personal account:
Credit card funded payments that are sent to Personal accounts will be held as "Unclaimed" with "Accept" or "Deny" buttons until the recipient accepts it by upgrading to a Business or Premier account, or denies it. If the payment is denied, the funds will be returned to the sender.
You may have also reached your Personal account receiving limit. All Personal PayPal accounts in the U.S., UK, Germany or Canada, have a receiving limit. This applies to payments received from eBay Items, Auction Non-eBay and Goods Other (Website sales).
If you have exceeded your limit, you will need to upgrade your account in order to receive payments. All applicable payments, which exceed the monthly limit, will be placed in accept/deny status.
If you receive a payment in a currency in which you do not maintain a balance:
Payments sent in a currency that you do not maintain a balance in will be received in the "Unclaimed" status with the "Accept" and "Deny" buttons. If you click on Accept, you will be given three options.
· Accept the payment and convert to the primary balance · Accept the payment and open the currency balance · Deny the payment
I appreciate the opportunity to assist you. We are committed to making your experiences at PayPal pleasant and rewarding.
Sincerely, Matthew PayPal Business Support PayPal, an eBay Company
Original Message Follows: ------------------------ Form Message customer subject: Fund raising calendar customer message: Additional Information: 'Ophoto.com had a big sale on their calendars that you can customize and print. I thought what a great fundraiser for me and my on-line friends.
I'm going to make the calendar and buy around 50 of them with my own money. But then I need to turn around and ship them to my 30 friends. As they Paypal me their funds, will you deduct any money from me? I'm not a business and this is a simple fundraiser for our on-line car forum.
As much as I really hate using Canada Post for money orders I guess that'll have to be the way it's done. It's very frustrating that Paypal does this. That has put the calendar cost up probably about $4.00 by having to use a money order (user fee + lousy exchange rate). Scott, you will need to get your address to us plus a final shipping cost so I can get that out to you asap so you don't have to wait too long for payment.
Blue, I hear ya. As long as it will clear in US funds, you can use your cheapest method. It doesn't have to be a Canadian Postal Monery order.
I shoulda realized that the money issue was gonna really stink.
Sorry Bjorn, I dunno. I'm as lost as you are. But to be honest, that sure sounds like a "correct" transfer. I hope... Why don't you send me $5.00 and we'll see what happens. And then I'll just keep that money if I get it.
Edit: OK, I can take a personal check from the US of A people. But if it bounces you will really, really bother me - and everybody on the forum will know.
I'm sure non-US folks are still gonna need to send money via some sort of US funds money order or bank check.
I will accept Paypal but it CANNOT be funded by a credit card. It has to come out of a cash account out of Paypal, or directly from a bank account. I can accept as much as $500 per month at Paypal and not go over my personal account limit. Hopefully I won't go over that. We'll see.
I have an international US money order made out for $19.95 US, dated Oct 3/05 left over from a purchase that fell tnrough. Please send me your mailing address and I'll mail it to you. If there is any left over keep it, if not let me know and I'll Paypal you the difference. I have funds in my Paypal account so it should not be a problem.
LOL - That ONE wasn't for you, it was for them, however, yeah it would be great to go final. MOVE IT! :-)
Thanks for the awesome work. You WILL raise Bjorn's car back to the normal ride height, yes? I mean, as the calndar stands, i think Bjorn will notice. Oh well, it's not my car, I don't care.
Chech? or was it Chong? made a movie called "Born in East LA", where he`s born there ,doesnt speak Spanish and goes to a place where "la Migra" does a raid , not having his wallet with him ,he gets deported to Mexico , where he tries to get back from...a really funny movie!
Lowering the car is the easy part. Raising it back up again.... uh, not so easy. Anyone know how to draw suspension parts "free hand" with a mouse?! Ooops!

This....is indeed....the most PAINFUL thread in the FGF site history.
More painful even than Chevybird chaos at its most extreme moments. Even the night I punched him in the face several times THROUGH my internet connection.
I'm sending you 25 dollars through Paypal. All I want is a few calendars. Keep the change for your hard work and time at doing this for the guys, Smitty.

Man dude! You really trashed the quarter. It wasn't 5 minutes ago, I just commented on the incredible job that the mudman did on my quarters. And that's the quarter that isn't blown out.
For trashing my good quarter, would you do me a favor? Post the picture of the right fender. That nice picture that really shows the crunch. Go ahead and post the blown out left quarter too so we can do some before and after shots.
I have started roughing out the fender. Not saying that the metal isn't trashed, but the main part of the damage is the result of the reinforcment--in the front, just behind the headlight bucket--was broken. The bent metal hammered out farily well, and once I get the reinfocement weled up, it should be fairly presentable.
Darn son-in-law. He said what about that fender that you have in Mum Mum's (my mother's) basement. I said, "You do the math. If you had a fender that you had been sitting on for 25 years, and someone ran into your car, trashing the fender, what would be the chances that the fender you have is for the side that was hit?"
Well what are the chances? Everyone knows that answer.
HAhahaahah Too funny AND painful. Steve is evil with Photoshop.
Nash, just for reference:
Scenario for 3 calendars: $30.00 - Calendars $3.00 - Geoff Surcharge $6.00 - Kodak to me shipping $5.50 - Approx cost of me to you shipping $44.50 - Total
Wow, wind in my face! No W/S! like a Daytona racer....I certainly wont get over the speed bumps with that ride height , at least not w/o taking off the Camaro snow plow!
Scott; I sent money with PayPal to smitty2k@gmail.com. Let me know how it turns out. Western Union MO is the other alternative, but a pain to do, and like $15 fee! PayPal is by far the easiest way internationally.
