posted March 18, 2006 07:08 AM I have been against this until now but enough is enough. I believe the the members, 1969 Ram-Air IV, 1967 Firebird 400 and 68Coupe should be banned. They have made it 'oh so' obvious that their goal is to create a problem on this board. They have had months to stop it and become members in good standing. I can produce proof but the case is already made by these members recent posts. You can go back as far as you want and not find one positive post by any of them. The admins. know about all the posts that they had to delete in the past months that were all negative. We went years without a problem with the rating system. We went years without Goeff posting what a pain it was to read the negative posts. I have heard it explained that with so many members you can't avoid conflict. That is true. BUT When we had conflict in the past it always resolved itself because true members always come back to the cars and the hobby, find common ground and move on. These three that I named have agendas that do not include finding or giving information. In fact, they have no positive reason to be here. I can make a solid case for each of the three members to prove what they are really here for and in each instance the purpose will make the board experience lesser and just make headaches for the admins and the owner. This 'three ring circus' has gone on long enough. A purge at this point is important before the cancer grows to a fourth or fifth new member that just wants to make ill gotten gains or simply try to make us look like idiots. As you can see, they have been left alone long enough that they are banding together. There is no honor among thieves and they are so full of negativity that they even turn on each other. Enough is enough. There is a time when all the diplomacy in the world will not do the trick!

I think this post sums it up for two of the three.

Hey Ram-Air...I agree with you 100% regarding the "click" members!...Bjorn don't know what the hell he's talking about...By the way, I'm formally known as Chevybird and also as Ponchobird...These so called "clicks" are the ones who pissed me off back in late November through early January and had me banned!...You're also 100% correct regarding that *******, "click" Yellowbird...Nothing but a two face!...That SOB banned me from her site also because I didn't fit in!... I'm surprised that "Ghetto Cop" Banshee didn't cut you down!...It's a known fact that fbody69 and Banshee has it in for anyone who owns a Ram Air car or motor!...In my opinion, anyone who bought one of those lame calenders are part of the "click"!...I can't understand why Bjorn is letting that Geoff complaint thread continue...he's probably waiting for all the "click" members to post before he locks it.

Another thing that needs to be added: If Goeff does decide to ban these problem members there needs to be some "teeth" in it. To avoid this being a repetitive, new member, problem, I would like to suggest that if a memebr is banned and they return under an assumed name, they should be banned as soon as they are discovered. Having this as a definite part of the banning process would end troublemakers from thinking that they can burn their bridges and return time after time. You may wonder how we will tell who they are? Answer: If you can't tell who they are then they are not causing trouble then. Problem completely solved.
Well, I should refrain from pointing fingers cuz I'm not perfect either.
Any of these members "in question" have never personally offended me so I think I'll stay out of the furball.
Calling the calendars "lame" just sounds like a little sour grapes or something. It doesn't offend me, but I have to giggle at how somebody would call the calendar lame when they haven't seen it? For the record, I don't think I've had one negative feedback (from actual purchasers.)
The calendar isn't perfect but you have to admit that it's probably the ONLY dedicated FGF calendar ever! Considering that and ALL the folks who pitched-in and contributed, the calendar "exercise" was a complete success! Lame or not. Heheheh.
Hehehe I'm glad. Vikki is gonna do Cal #2! (Thanks goodness).
My personal stance on banning ANY member is that if they are always, always, always posting unfriendly posts then, yes, they need to be disciplined.
The problem is that new account creation is so easy. That's why I posted in another thread that no matter what I won't quit this forum. "Sour" posts are easily ignored. My e-friends around here are always nice to me so I know whose posts to read and whose to ignore.
I havn't seen the calandar, (can't afford it right now,not working ) but I can appreciate all the time and effort required to put it together. The last thing I would call it would be lame. I am sure that all participants are thrilled to see their 'birds on it. I know i would be.
Ok I just read this post in its entire, F-Body, everyone knows that you and I do not get along, But i have Not interfered in anything. I have even refraned from mentioning my ram air car because I knew it would cause trouble. Jim, If you really knew me, You would see and know that I am by far a trouble maker and if I was, Geoff and company would have banned me or at the very least given me a fist warning. None of this has ever happened. I have been a member here for a long time and plan on staying that way....If you ever want to work out our differences let me know I would love to do that OFF this forum...Also, little do you know, I have helped many many people here in more ways then anyone knows. BTW, I do not know or e-mail or click(LOL) with the other 2 members. But I do agree with them sometimes and beleive it or not, I agree with you more then you know. I have been as silent as I can be here and that is not fair to me either...If I feel the need to post it will be nothing but positive as it has been latley. Lets not (you and I bring up old posts, I did copy yours as you did mine and they really sucked for both of us. let it be, I do...JOHN
I remember when this place was a nice place to visit. Now its just like every other pissing contest forum out there. I would like to say that the admin need to kick off the people that are making it this way, but at what point does it stop? Maybe make a separate spot called "The Ring" where members can just duke it out and we will judge who wins? Then just ban the looser? Is that the right answer? How about this, "Be Adults"!
I disagree. As a frequent reader and unfrequent poster, I have no problem overlooking the few unfriendly posts. Too many good ones to read to worry about the few bad ones. It might be better if some just ignored the few misfits instead on giving them more air-time by responding to them Either way, I say this board is better than others. Except maybe I couldn't tell since I don't return to others. .
OK guys(and gals), just step back and take a breath. Geoff has taken the appropriate action. This sight has NOT turned into a "pissing contest forum". Its still the best friggn' sight for us FGFers on the planet. The trouble makers were here just to cause trouble. They are now gone, and so is the problem.
Now, turn off your stars and become part of the CLICK!!! Lets have some fun!!!
Smitty, you know you did an awesome job on the calendar.
I missed the calendar deadline, too. I'll join the click and buy one if they are still around. I don't care about stars, I wish I had a ram air, and Fbody69 has helped me out a lot. Am I riding the fence? Probably, but who cares. I try to help if I can, I shut up if I can't or am not sure of my "wisdom", and I don't post just to see my numbers go up. Except for maybe this one. Gee, I AM a hypocrite! Better apologize to my ex.
I have been a member of this forum for over 4 years and have watched the theatrics over the past couple of months.
I travel quite a bit with my job and have had the opportunity to personally meet many of the members on this site. I have spoken with countless others. One thing I have found is that for the most part, everyone wants to have fun, enjoy their cars and help others. I have found there are some who proport to be more than they really are or may not be as "reliable" as one would have thought and I "learn" how to deal with them as individuals. However; there is not one of us here who is infallable - we all have our "warts", so-to-speak. I find it best to take what people say with a grain of salt until I get to know them better.
I don't take it personal when someone criticizes me for my "lack of knowledge" or "incorrect recommendations". I know that sometimes I get it wrong or maybe others do not have the life experiences that I have, so they aren't able to have an open mind about some things.
I don't think it takes a mental heavyweight to figure out when someone's intention is only to disrupt/create chaos/draw people into their meaningless diatribes. The problem is when we are drawn into that and it gets out of hand.
I for one have decided to continue being a part of this forum, but will spend less time here until things have changed back for the better.
hey ram air IV, you are right in a lot of what you say, But do not let him or them bother you. It is the best way. I have ignored them the best I can. And Geoff, If you read this maybe you should think about it a little more, NO ONE has the right to tell you or the board to ban anyone. You have that right I can see that you have done all the right things so far. but Why havn't you or company deleted the post to ban the 3 members? Yes I am one of them, But its only because I bought my ram air car off your site and the others thought that was not for real. I think they are jealous and they will never let it be. and how can anyone bash anyone without seeing their cars? Geoff, when a heated topic starts why not delete it? you or company deleted my paint topic and it was a very good topic. again just my thoughts....
Wish it was an exact science to when and how I ban or delete a topic. Some topics I let go but keep a close eye on it (this one) while others I decide to delete/close and not let go any further.
I would rather not have to do any of the above. If we all would just ignore the baiting/internet bullies, they would just go away.
Boy, you go out of town on a 1.5 day cruise ,and you miss all this??! not really , I had a great time...dont wish I had stayed around!
but to comment on "I can't understand why Bjorn is letting that Geoff complaint thread continue..." it was because it wasnt any fight in there between any one, at least not the part I read... I felt they had the 'right' to complain...
and Re:"...I agree with you 100% regarding the "click" members!...Bjorn don't know what the hell he's talking about...By the way, I'm formally known as Chevybird and also as Ponchobird..." thats totally bogus...even though I knew at the end , = last 1/2 week - week who he was ,he had behaved under his assumed name...there was NEVER any clique in any other form than in their minds...but you can only lead a horse to water...
and "Bjorn don't know .." Should be "Bjorn doesn't know..." as far as I learned English!
hopefully this is a dead issue now....
except for us IN the the "clique"...the Clique = everyone enjoying the site and wants to contribute to it in one form or another with out biting others heads off...
Please, all calendar "stuff" should be addressed over at the calendar thread. If you really want a calendar post in the calendar thread or PM me and I'll add you to the list of hopefuls.
Remember, a new round of calendars is gonna be around $24 for the first calendar per customer.
John...this was posted to Geoff, and he wasnt there...I deleted it...
quote:
Geoff, when a heated topic starts why not delete it? you or company deleted my paint topic and it was a very good topic. again just my thoughts....

the reason,it got very sidetracked, it started out good , but got bad... I deleted anything that had bad 'vibes' in it or wasnt answers to the original question.,...the rest was left intact for the benefit of others...
and its sometimes hard to determine when a 'heated' topic becomes 'heated',, you have to be part of that topic...if you are not here 24/7 , as I TRY to, (but I do have a regular job), its very hard to find out when a topic goes awry...we will then back track and do the best we can...simple as that...
Bjorn, My question to Geoff was answered by geoff.
You state... "the reason,it got very sidetracked, it started out good , but got bad... I deleted anything that had bad 'vibes' in it or wasnt answers to the original question.,...the rest was left intact for the benefit of others..." .......But it was deleted in its entire not only the bad vibes but the whole topic.
I just found it strange that some topics are let to carry on (like this one) and some are completly deleted. Thats all..
