What magazines are read by FGF members? I like Hemmings Classic Car. I subscribe to Hemmings Muscle Machines also but I prefer the original "regular" cars that are featured in Classic Car. I haven't given High Performance Pontiac much of a chance because when I've looked at it in the stores, it seems to feature non-original upgrades for the most part. Maybe I'm wrong on this one. What are the other favorites??? ps - I turned off my stars in an attempt to fit in
For a while, we had a friend who had a subscription business. So I was getting: Hot Rod, Popular Hot Rodding, Car Craft, Truckin, Classic Trucks, European Car, High Performance Pontiac, Chevy High Performance, Mustangs & Fords (wifes got a 66 Stang) and Hot VW. I have to say I have cut back!
My favorites are High Performance Pontiac, Pontiac Enthusiast, Popular Hot Rodding, Car Craft, Custom & Classic Trucks, Hot Vw's, Fords & Mustangs and then Hot Rod. But I only get High Performance Pontiac, Popular Hot Rodding, Car Craft, Custom & Classic Trucks anymore... not sure how many I'll keep up with over all? Can you say info junkie?
HPP is by far my favorite by Hot rod has interesting articles for my 3rd gen. those 2 are all I have time for, I'm too busy with 2 kids, 2 jobs, and way to many projects .. 69 firebird, 78 triumph, 74 pickup....etc you get the idea
Sport Diver, Scuba Diving, American Motorcyclist and Marine Corps League for me. I used to get several of the car mags, including Hot Rod, but seeing the cars I can't have and the upgrades I'll never do just made me eat my heart out.
-High Performance Pontiac -Hot Rod -Playboy (there honestly are some great articles and other interesting trivia) -Outdoor Life -National Geographic Adventure -and several industry magazines.
Geez, after looking at that list, it's no wonder why I always have trouble getting things done.
I really look foward each month to my three rags. HPP, PE and Car Craft. Sent the calendar pic into CC for there burn out pics. We'll see what happens. Bill
Yeah! It was a blast. I've tried a few times to get my bird into CC. Ive gotten this mag for over 30 years and finally gotten a car I think is worthy of being in. The closest I've come is their quotes section about 6-7 years ago. And in 02 got the bird into readers rides of HPP. Was at my high school parking lot smokin um. Thats when I had the orange engine in it. But it was painted yellow. Bill KCILC
In order, I like Car Craft, HPP, Hot Rod and Popular Hot Rodding. Hot Rod's latest issue was awesome - anyone else catch that Holden hot rod? Almost made me give up muscle cars for rods.
