Thanks! The plan is to do a T/A in Palladium Silver with Black stripes and blacked out rear tailpanel. A bunch of people have tried to talk me out of it saying if I'm going to do a T/A it should be White with the Blue stripes.
Yeah, I've been on numerous sites and have talked to quite a few people about what to do for the hood. I'm fairly positive I'm going to use the hoods produced by Camero Specialties in Aurora, NY. I spoke to Bob Harris about it. I guess there is another repop hood with the steel liner out there that has issues. I talked to a guy on Lateral-G about the hood he used. He had put 60 hours into it and it still wasn't as good as he wanted. Warped to say the least. I want my car to look good but its not like I'm trying to win the Ridler or anything.
I sure hope so. It's getting the full T/A exterior with a couple of one-offs that I hope will be cool. You'll only be able to notice with a sharp eye...
Looking good! theres guy in our group with a silver 69 coupe , he also painted the inner sides of the grilles with body color rather than the std silver/argent , looks great...
Yes, sharp looking 69! I started with a fiberglass hood and that had a significant bow. So bad, I didn't want it on the car. So, I got one of the hoods (through Terry) with the metal frame. That one fit very nicely.

That color combo Silver with Black stripes would be cool!
I'm terible with names, and it's been some time since I talked with the gent, but I have seen a factory 1st year T/A with a different color combination other than White/Blue. One of one.
Now I remember his name, Mark Schilling. He restors only '69 'birds and T/As. After I bought my convertible, I bought an AM/FM raido and 3.23 diff from him. He was kind enough to show me some of his projects, one being a factory T/A in Cameo White with red stripes and red interior. As I recal he said the the design team also had also mocked up a White w/Green strips and green interior T/A.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but all 697 T/A's built in 69 were only offered with an exterior color of Cameo white with Tyrol blue stripes. There were numerous interior combos, however.
There was one Palladium Silver car, but it was a pre-production prototype used for press functions. It had no stripes, that I'm aware of.
I'm not aware of these others. Quite possible given the secretive nature of operations at the GM divisions in those days. They would have a pre-production VIN, I assume. Maybe they avoided the crusher somehow.
