I got a cousin that goes spring and fall,he invited me and i would love to go but being a farmer spring and fall is a busy time for me.someday i will get there might have to wait till i retire.
Terry, i figured there would be tons of Camaros and Chevelles but i was hoping to see some Pontiacs, Buicks and Oldsmobiles as well as other Chevrolets. Is it that bad? Spring or fall Carlisle? What will i see during the spring or fall show? Is it just parts vendors during those times?

A friend of mine takes GTOs to Carlisle to sell. He usually sells them and sometimes even buys one or two to take home on the empty trailer. He says he likes to get there really early because there are always a few hungry buyers right off the bat.
Spring and fall ar the best, Summer is alright but usually very hot. Best day to go is first day of show as all the vendors are full of parts. Best day to buy if part hasn't already sold is Sunday as you can deal better because most don't wan't to carry the stuff back home with them. Pontiacs are a little rare especially firebirds but you will find things. Camaros, chevells, and mustang seem to be the most popular there. Still alot of fun and I plan to be there this spring. Maybe we can take a poll of who all will be there and us FGF can meet up somewhere. If you do decide to go and buy parts take a wagon, You can spend all day walking that place and never cover the intire grounds. Those parts get heavy after a few hours.
69 firebird 350 ho 4spd someday I'll get this thing on the road again
Spring and Fall are swap meets only, no showing. It's so full with parts and whole cars for sale so that there isn't even room for parking on the grounds.
The rest of the shows (GM, Fxxd, etc) are shows where owners can bring their cars to enter in competition. There are also vendors at these, but the number and variety of what's available are greatly reduced from Spring/Fall. If you want to show, go to the GM show. If you want parts from the backyard vendors, come to Spring/Fall. If you want parts from the large, commercial vendors (Ames, PY, Classic), you can come to any of them.
There used to be a Summer swap meet in August too, but they replaced that with the motorcyle show.
How about Spring Englishtown? I went a few years back and it was a good swap meet and tons of beautiful cars. And Ames is there. I'm thinking about going this April. 4+ hours from my house, though.
Ok.... so, I've asked in the MOFO group and haven't gotten any responses yet, so I'll ask on here. I'm going to go the the Carlisle GM Nationals June 22-24. It's $25 to register for the show field, which will get me my parking and 2 passes for all 3 days. This is cheaper than paying parking and entrance for that time. Obviously, I'd like to coordinate registrations so anyone else from here would end up in the same location, and not get scattered around the grounds. I see 3 possible classes that could probably apply to our birds. There is the Camaro judged field, the Camaro fun field, and the All-GM Nationals show field.
Now, my car is definitely more suited for the fun field, but since it costs the same and I know there are many cars around that will definitely stand up to scrutinous judging, I may as well put it in one of the show classes so we can be parked together. I know I've seen Firebirds in the Camaros field before, but they're scattered around. My conclusion then is that we should all be in the All-GM Nats show field. Anyone else want to join in on this? I'd hate to be the lone Firebird in the show.
I am on holidays beginning that week and was planning on heading down there with my two buddies.
