Finally our kids are grown, so my wife and I can make plans for our first vacation to the USA. My brother and his wife are joining us.
The first plan was to drive the Route 66 from Chicago to the 35 Annual POCI Convention July 10-14 2007 Tulsa, but I have to be back in Norway by then. So to make it short, our vacation starts in Chicago June 16 and ends July 09. Are there any of you who know of any Car Show or some Events /Concert's (we like all kinds of music) in this time period and along the tentative route I made. See map.

Should you decide to change your vacation route to include more Rt 66, or at least closer to southwest Missouri, let me know. If you are a NASCAR type race fan, you'll want to spend at least a day in Daytona.

A couple of Goodguys shows, in Atlanta June 15-17, Nashville, June 29-July 1st.

Not much listed in the Upstate SC area, you come right by me, sorta.

On your run through the Atlanta area, take note that Summit racing has a store there right off I-75 and Goodmark and Year One are there as well. But a little off your path on I-85 North.

Not sure what your transportation will be while you are here in the states, but if you are renting a car make sure it's a nice comfortable car for that much driving.

Looks like the Taste of Chicago is going on between June 29-July 8, 2007, so you could probably catch the tail end of that.

Hello again, no it is 4 weeks til we arrive at Chicago airport.
The plan so far is a quick visit to Jimc2002, travel along Route 66 til St.Louis (have a stop in Pontiac).Then vi will visit Nashville for some Contry Music. We will meet Nashvill68bird there. John mentiont Mamut Cave was a thing we had to see. My brothers wife (Elvis fan)insist that vi visit Memphis and Graceland. Hopfully will we be in New Orleans after the first week. After 1-2 days (In New Orleans), we will go to Florida.(maybe we will go to Key West). Hope we can use the second week there.
