wohoo. I got back with my car sunday from paint, and I will have to say that I am really happy with how the bodywork and paint came out. I got the chance to spray the whole car and had my neighbor (a professional body guy) watch over me and give me some tips on my first paint job. I had a blast doing it and it came out just awesome. I getting really excited because now im getting close to being on the road.
The color is windward blue. I noticed in the sun it has a slight green tint to it, but I love the color. Im hoping to have the car put back together and on the road by july 5th, which would be the end of the second year of me working on the car. Its come a long ways, the motor and transmission are rebuilt, ive patched the fenders and hood, done an extreme amount of bodywork on the doors, replaced the rear deck filler panel, replaced the trunk floor, replaced both quarter panels and a few things behind the quarters. Im really happy now that im starting to see the end of this project and its almost time to start enjoying it and taking it to cruises and just driving it.
I couldn't tell from your pics in the garage. It will really be nice to see it in full sunlight. #51 Liberty Blue was the color I couldn't think of; I had to get my paint chip sheet out. #51 is darker.
Don't rush things. Ya don't want to screw anything up this late in the game.
haha. the hood is for my dads mustang. The 'stang was in an accident, but is almost all better now. Id love to have a 400 hood on my 'bird but money is my biggest limiting factor. I would like to in the future put a 400 hood on and a hood tach, but im not sure if I have the heart to do that to a #'s matching 350 car. It sure would look cool though. When my car is finished ill have to get a good picture of my dads cars and mine.
