Hello all, can anyone tell me how to remove the window crank handles on the interior of the door? does it pry off or something? I need to take the door skin off to swap out the side view mirror and door handle.

There is a clip between the handle and the door panel that clips into two opposing slots on the inside of the crank handle and engages a groove on the splined shaft which the crank handle is mounted upon. Remove the clip, and pull the handle straight out away from the door.

is it a thin metal looking ring / washer??

the flat disc is a plastic panel protector. The clip itself is wire, sort of like two letter Z with longer bottoms, connected back to back at the bottom.

$5 tool at the auto parts store makes it an easy task.

I use an o-ring pick to remove them. Some use this tool that's available at most auto parts;

If you`re "cheap" like I am , you CAN get them out with a screw driver...but careful!

I bent a piece of metal (an old nail, or firm metal wire) and hooked it behind the ring and pulled them out that way. Works great!

many ways here. one way i use is a pair of needle nose pliers on the bottom clip of the opening. i put each tip on each side of the clip and push. it always comes off no problem!
