Bought a headliner from NPD for my '68 bird. The upholstery shop installed it and had quite a time trying to stretch out the poorly stitched seams. Had dips where the fabric was not sewed straight. Why can't we get decent reproductions???? Probably should have just reused my old headliner. It only needed a few seams re-stitched!.
Could it be the installer and not the headliner? This has been repoped for decades, and it's made with an automated system. Not saying that the automated system didn't foul up, but the odds are better that it was the installer, not the manafacturer who screwed it up.
You can look at the headliner and see there is extra fabric sagging along a few inches of seam here and there. It really looks like the seams weren't sewn straight,
